Growing kids who are growing animals. Raising healthy animals for healthy people. These are our future farmers. Your support helps local agriculture.
Come join the community in recognizing and celebrating our local farm youth!

The animals in this auction have been reared by local 4-H members in good standing who have completed the mandatory classes and requirements to be eligible for the sale. This program requires each participant to learn and utilize advanced animal husbandry skills, marketing acumen, the ability to communicate effectively and to efficiently solve problems.

The goals for the program are to inspire responsibility, promote collaboration and sharing of knowledge, set a positive youth example for the public at large, provide an opportunity for 4-H youth to earn income and to teach and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

The participating youth had the added hardship of growing animals during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The 2020 4-H Livestock Auction participants have shown the utmost dedication and professionalism.

100% of the proceeds and donations goes to the youth.

For those who have bid in past auctions, this year bids are a flat rate, not per pound.

Winning Bidders

If you are the winning bidder, we will contact within 24 hours of the auction end.

The participant who raised the animal, along with support staff, will set up a Zoom meeting with the winner to talk about processing and delivery.

At this meeting, we will review the cut sheet (how you want the animal cut up) and the delivery options. 4-H youth will delver the processed animal to you if you are within 1 hour of our Kingston, NY office, if you are outside of that range you will be able to schedule a pick up at our office.

Each animal has options.  Would you like to receive the chicken giblets?

Would you like to have bacon or smoked hams from your hog?

Would you like your rabbit to be parted out instead of whole?

We will help you make these decisions and guide you through the process during the post auction meeting!

The winning bidder will cover the processing costs and these costs must be paid prior to or at the delivery of the meat.

To help you understand these costs in each lot description we provide and estimated processing cost. Variations in size and weight of individual animals as well as the choices you make regarding the processing (if you request bacon or smoked hams) will affect the cost of processing.  If you have any further questions about this process, please contact Jason Detzel 518-567-4506
